Temporary Footpath Closure
Notification has been received from Durham County Council of the following:-
An Order is being made under the provisions of Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to close to pedestrian traffic an approximate 50 metre length of footpath on St Mary’s Close, Easington that runs from northern side of closure adjacent to number 12 in a southerly direction to number 13.
The closure is necessary to enable new street lighting column installation works to be undertaken and is required from 9.30am on Monday 25 January 2021 and for the duration of the works anticipated to be 5 days between 9.30 am to 3.00 pm daily.
Throughout the period of closure, an alternative route will be available to pedestrian traffic from the northern side of closure in an easterly direction on B1283 Hall Walks, then southerly on Prow footpath 4, and westerly on Durham Lane to southern side of closure, and vice versa.
