On Monday 4th July 2022 an oak tree was planted on Easington Village Green to mark the Platinum Jubilee of HM Queen Elizabeth II. The official planting of the tree was performed by former Parish Councillor Mrs Mavis Burn. Mavis served as Parish Councillor for over 30 years until she retired in May 2021. Councillor Len Morton said “Mavis had given many years of service to her community and is a big miss on the Parish Council”.
The event was attended by Parish Councillors past and present and also members of the community who had worked with Mavis during her time as a Parish Councillor. Mavis said “it was an honour to plant the oak tree to mark the Platinum Jubilee of HM Queen Elizabeth II”
